I remember a Rita Stoll and she had a sister. They used to live in the area west of Dr. jagan's house in...I can't recall the name of that place somewhere around the northern end of Prashad Nagar. I meet india indians in brampton canada every day but we dont have anything in common. My great great grandparent' were cremated at the babu jan cemetry in port mourant in berbice and i can still visit them in 2024.The british have account of each indentured immigrants. Labourer.I was told my foreparents were very happy in british Guiana as in india ."the land of poverty even today.garbage propoganda.india is not my mother land it is guyana.jai hind guyana.

Actually migrated from South Africa to other continent and different countries mixed marriages diversity in the Indian's thought out the place once they all unite it will be a the largest race ever

Fascinating, my grandfather lived this life as described but later, from a little lad born in Madeira, sailed to Guyana turn of 1900s, set himself up as a businessman, owned saw mill, a cinemas, shops etc and then into politics.

I am English born to a Mauritian Father. A few years ago I found out i have family in Trinidad. Seems I could have family in any one of the British occupied countries. I discovered my family arrived in Mauritius from Bihar in the 1850's. The ship that carried them from Kalkutta was called the Waterwitch,. With respect to the British being tight on accurately logging everything, and the Mauritius indentured labour records department, we found a photo of my forefather with a signed contract. The conditions were extremely poor and there must have been a sense that they were tricked!!

Another interesting indentured story from nearly 200 years prior is the book White Cargo

I hope the alignments of rocks paced on the tops of the large boulders with Petroglyphs have not been removed as Denis felt they were significant to the Petroglyphs and placed there when they were engraved.

My mother is from Guyana 🇬🇾 and my father is from North Carolina, however I'm running into many ppl with my last name Alston who are not just Carolinians but of West Indian descent which is making me want to trace my father's lineage.
